East Turkistan National Army
On 8 December 2024, the autocratic regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria collapsed following a major offensive by opposition forces. The offensive, led by Tahrir al-Sham and supported primarily by the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army, marked a significant turning point in the region. This development brings hope and liberation to thousands who have long suffered under Assad’s oppressive rule.
Yet, while one oppressive regime has fallen, another remains steadfast elsewhere. For the people of East Turkistan, the struggle for freedom continues to face immense challenges. The Chinese colonial regime has intensified its oppressive policies in East Turkistan, creating a reality that is even harsher and more suffocating than before.
